SimDiff 4 Professional incorporates all the commonly used features in SimDiff Pro 3.1
plus many of the features in SimMerge 3.4. Less commonly used features from SimDiff
Pro 3.1 will be incorporated in the coming year. These less commonly used features in
SimDiff Pro 3.1 include: Auditing comments, XML output, extended command-line
options.
If you are not using any of the less commonly used features, you can upgrade to SimDiff
4 Professional immediately. Most users can upgrade to SimDiff 4 immediately.
If you are using one or more of the less commonly used features you can continue to
use SimDiff 3.1. EnSoft will continue to support SimDiff 3.1, including compatibility
updates for new MathWorks and Windows releases and technical support. Customers
who wish to continue using SimDiff 3.x do not need to take any immediate action, nor
are they obligated to upgrade.
SimDiff 4 Team combines SimDiff and SimMerge into a single product and is the
successor to SimMerge 3.4. SimDiff 4 Team is a drop in replacement to SimMerge 3.x.
SimDiff 4 Professional combines SimDiff Pro and many of the features in SimMerge into
a single product and is the successor to SimDiff Pro 3.1. If SimDiff Pro 3.x is used in
conjunction with internal documentation and processes, we recommend these are
reviewed and updated to account for the new user interface before wide deployment of
SimDiff 4.
EnSoft will continue to support SimDiff 3.x for customers with current maintenance. This includes compatibility updates for new MathWorks and Windows releases and technical support. Customers who wish to continue using SimDiff 3.x do not need to take any immediate action, nor are they obligated to upgrade.
Users using SimDiff 2.x are highly encouraged to upgrade to SimDiff 3.x or SimDiff 4. SimDiff 3.x is a drop-in replacement for SimDiff 2.x. Both products share a similar user interface, meaning any internal documentation and processes need not be updated after upgrading to SimDiff 3.x.
