ENSOFT ANNOUNCES SIMDIFF 2.0

Ames, IA - April 5, 2006 - EnSoft today announced SimDiff™ 2.0, a significant upgrade to the only commercially available software tool that automatically finds differences between Simulink® models. SimDiff 2.0 features support for TargetLink® from dSPACE, a popular tool for generating production quality code, and Stateflow® from The MathWorks, a tool for designing and simulating event-driven systems. In addition, SimDiff 2.0 incorporates several enhancements suggested by users.

SimDiff already compares two Simulink model files for additions, deletions, and changes to blocks, lines, configuration parameters, model properties, subsystems, and annotations. With this upgrade, SimDiff provides a consistent view of the differences in TargetLink properties as well.

SimDiff 2.0 also adds support for Stateflow charts embedded in Simulink diagrams. SimDiff finds differences that affect the logic of Simulink models, not simple layout changes. The latest version of SimDiff extends this capability to Stateflow. Differences can be viewed in a list, or graphically via Stateflow. For users of MathWorks R14 SP3 or later, SimDiff 2.0 also supports embedded truth tables.

“Adding support for Stateflow and TargetLink represents a major milestone in the development of SimDiff. EnSoft continues to add features for our users on a regular basis,” said Jeremias Sauceda, EnSoft's CTO.

In the latest release, EnSoft has also included several enhancements suggested by users. For example, SimDiff now assigns a unique number to each difference, which facilitates collaboration between colleagues. Additionally, differences are now displayed in higher detail with the inclusion of type information for each difference. These and other improvements continue EnSoft's commitment to meeting customer needs.

“We use SimDiff in the development of electronic controllers for safety-critical aerospace applications,” said Karl Mason, Honeywell. “SimDiff's integration with ClearCase allows us to quickly and accurately determine the changes that have been made between versions of model elements in ClearCase. SimDiff has been a valuable tool to aid us in our review process.”

Pricing & Availability

SimDiff 2.0 is available immediately at $1200 (USD) per license. EnSoft offers a maintenance option for $240 per year per license, which entitles customers to the latest major release of SimDiff. Customers who purchased SimDiff after November 30, 2005 or who have current maintenance are eligible to upgrade to SimDiff 2.0. SimDiff is available directly from EnSoft in the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, and other regions.

Customers can obtain product information or request a trial of SimDiff at www.simdiff.com.

ENSOFT INTRODUCES SIMDIFF

Ames, IA - Aug 2, 2005 - EnSoft today released SimDiff, a software tool that automatically finds differences between Simulink models. SimDiff automates an integral part of the development and maintenance of products for the aerospace, defense, automotive, communications, electronics, and semiconductor industries. In several of these industries, auditing and tracking changes is essential to meeting safety and quality standards. SimDiff provides a convenient facility for Engineers to audit and track changes. SimDiff is priced at $1000(USD).

"In safety-critical industries, such as aerospace and automotive, engineers spend substantial time finding and auditing differences. We expect SimDiff to save customers significant time and labor costs," said Jeremias Sauceda, EnSoft's CTO.

SimDiff compares two Simulink model files for additions, deletions, and changes to blocks, lines, configuration parameters, model properties, subsystems, and annotations. In other words, it finds differences that affect the logic of the model, not simple layout changes. SimDiff presents these differences in a list or as highlighted blocks directly within Simulink.

It may require several people multiple passes to find all of the differences between two Simulink models. Not only does SimDiff find all of the differences much faster than a manual inspection would, it does so with accurate and consistent results. SimDiff can even find the differences between two large (larger than 5 MB) files in just a few seconds.

SimDiff provides the necessary facilities for creating an audit trail. Users can check-off and comment on changes after verifying the changes are correct. SimDiff keeps track of check-off dates and user names for each difference. Several team members can even collaborate in auditing and reviewing changes.

Pricing & Availability

SimDiff is priced at $1000(USD). EnSoft is offering floating network and node-locked licenses. A floating network license allows any user on your network to run SimDiff, simplifying system administration and deployment. A node-locked license is tied to a particular computer, ideal for use on a laptop. Customers can request a 30-day evaluation copy of SimDiff by contacting EnSoft at info@ensoftcorp.com. Product information is available at www.simdiff.com.

WITH AUTOMATION, COBOL TOTAL INSIGHT HELPS DEVELOPERS BECOME MORE EFFICIENT

Ames, IA - May 14, 2004 - During integration, maintenance, and everyday development, COBOL developers spend substantial time finding interactions within code to find information they need in order to complete their projects. Most common tasks, currently performed manually, take 20 minutes to complete, on average. Because the results of these tasks usually provide only very specific information, developers perform each task several times a day, everytime they need more information. EnSoft Corp.'s latest release, COBOL Total Insight, reduces those 20 minutes to 3 seconds, dramatically reducing project schedules.

Total Insight is an automation tool that queries large COBOL code and provides COBOL developers with a quick reference to program, file, SQL, and data interactions within the code. Total Insight works in a single window interface with two views: 'Connection' and 'Query'. The Connection view provides developers with immediate information on interactions, while the Query view allows developers to search the code for more specific information.

In the past, COBOL developers have largely rejected COBOL tools. When asked to comment on this, Jeremias Sauceda, EnSoft's CTO, said, "One of the major reasons that tools have not been widely adapted for COBOL development is that they are hard to use and don't handle large codes." About Total Insight, he went on to say, "We spent a lot of time talking to COBOL developers in finance and insurance companies to make sure Total Insight met both those requirements. We've created a tool that not only handles millions of lines of code, but also has an easy-to-learn, easy-to-use interface. It takes less than an hour to learn."

EnSoft representatives expect that after the adoption of COBOL Total Insight and other automation tools, there will be a visible change in the industry, as seen historically in the automation of car manufacturing and again of electronics manufacturing.

EnSoft Corp. is an automation tool development company based in Ames, IA.
